Susan Sarandon Bio

It was the year after the 1968 Democratic convention and there was a casting notice for a movie with a variety of roles for the kind of young individuals who disrupted the convention. Joe (1970) was sought out by Joe (1970) and Joe (1970) both recently graduated Catholic University students. Chris Sarandon, who had been studying to become an actor, was turned over. His wife Susan was given the opportunity to play in the film as Susan Compton. She is the daughter of Bill Compton (Dennis Patrick). Dad Bill, Susan's drug dealer boyfriend, is killed in the film. Joe (Peter Boyle) is a bigot, who works in an assembly line then meets Joe (Sarandon). Janet is involved with Dr. Frank n Furter, plays Janet in the film The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). After more than fifteen years, Sarandon began to campaign for Annie in Bull Durham (1988), flying herself from Rome to Los Angeles at her expense. Sarandon said that "It was an incredible script... it dispelled a lot of myths and challenged the definition of what success is". "I went to the studio together with Kevin Costner and shook hands with some of his sexy assistants, before returning to the plane. Tim Robbins, her Bull Durham (1988) as a supporting actor, was her first lover. He had two sons in 1992. This placed Sarandon in a difficult position. She was forced to leave her home to take on roles that were truly challenging. This led to four Academy Award nominations in the 1990s and for the best actress in Dead Man Walking (1995). Her first Academy Award nomination was for Louis Malle's Atlantic City (1980).
